A Good Human - by Shaban Khan

In life office and home are the two most important things. A chunk of 9 hours you spend in your place of work and remaining gets occupied by your family. And that makes life a journey with challenges in every moment of it, inviting you to accept it with a reward of success attached to it. And so we have no choice other than completing it with happiness.

A good relation with sometimes a casual handshake here and there is a barometer of how well you have been accepted. There are different temperaments around and differing attitudes but then winning everyone is what we all need. We men; well most of we Indians have our priorities in our workplace, and if failing we learn it the hard way. And then starts the analysis. A lunch together and an interaction of light nature, with a rapport with Boss, email, and phone, staying in touch, with occasional ideas of team nurturing, and last but not the least dropping a humble Thanks to one and all.

A family is what a man is all about, like a tree with roots sometimes seeping inside and sometimes propping outside. It’s what we are working for just to keep their smiles with them. A question asked of your good health and about the day makes it pleasing to live. Talking to a girl or a boy who gave their prime to you, and holding hands with some one of your own creation, asking them of their school or day, makes that tiring end of the day a success which most relish. Planning holidays with your family is an excitement in itself, and most of the time without you even being informed the plan is done. Help your spouse’s with anything and everything of their daily routines, and share everything; this starts the sharing of happiness. What I have discovered is that there are no unhappy people in this world, it’s only times that people become happy to be unhappy.

My sincere advice to keep in touch with friends and relatives, as dust settles they are what you have in hand. Friends represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born. And sometimes indulge in yourself too.

"The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them."
